The stunning Natalia Osipova dances the title role in Kenneth MacMillan’s compelling exploration of identity in the turbulent wake of the Russian Revolution. When World War 1 is declared, events overtake the young Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov and her family: and the Russian Revolution brings their privileged lives to an end. Afterwards a young woman appears – apparently the surviving royal princess. Known as 'Anna Anderson', she can’t remember her past.

Set to music by Tchaikovsky and Martinů, this is a powerful, psychological challenge for the principal ballerina, and a rare opportunity to see a landmark ballet by a major choreographer.
